“Good Grief” Group Supports Each Other

Our newly formed Widow/Widower Group, also known as the Good Grief group meets every other Wednesday evening.  We generally meet in the front hall of our church around 6:30, have some refreshments and catch up.  We are not a counselling team but rather a group of individuals who come together to discuss challenges we may be facing in day-to-day situations and to provide some support to each other in whatever way we can.  If we don’t have the answer, generally one of us has faced the same situation and can offer some advice on how to help the individual.

Losing a spouse is ranked number one in grieving.  Not something any of us want to face and forming this group is one way to ease our stress because no one understands more than another Widow/Widower.  We are currently a group of about 14 individuals checking in with each other bi-weekly and entertaining ourselves with the community by playing various games and just enjoying being together.  We are currently looking into other activities to do together in the future.

Rest assured, this isn’t a group individuals want to join but a group of like-minded people learning to live during a turbulent time in their life.  If you or someone you know would like to join us, please contact the office for more information and meeting times.
